Allison Serafin
Founder & President

Before starting Opportunity 180, Allison served as Special Consultant to the Clark County School District Superintendent. In this capacity she raised over 5 million dollars to support teacher talent and early childhood focused projects and led common core based professional learning communities to help teachers craft thematic units with integrated content. Prior to her district work, Allison led Teach For America – Las Vegas Valley’s local efforts as the Executive Director. As the Executive Director, she managed to increase financial support during the city’s worst recession and served on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Education Reform. She holds a BS from Texas Christian University and an MSSW from the University of Texas at Arlington. A native Texan, Allison began her career in education as a Houston Teach For America corps member and taught sixth grade at Attucks Middle School and seventh grade at YES College Prep.
